Spotted an IRS limit that looks stale, an RMD figure that does not match your custodian's statement, or just have a question? Chris reads every message himself.
Curious who reads these? See the authors page.
Most of the messages worth writing are about a figure that looks wrong. If that is why you are here, include which calculator you used, the exact inputs (balance, contribution rate, age, return assumption), the result the tool showed, and the number you got by hand or from another source. With those details Chris can usually re-run the calculation the same day and either fix the page or explain the gap, which is most often a difference in the return assumption, the contribution timing, or whether employer match was included.
Contribution limits, catch-up amounts, and the RMD table are IRS and SSA figures, dated by tax year on the editorial standards page. If a calculator's default value has not been updated to match a newer IRS notice, point us at the release and we will correct the page and note the date of the fix. We do not quietly edit a wrong number without leaving a trace.
